The Stent-Save a Life! global initiative virtually hosted its Annual Forum on 3 July 2020.

Conference Objective:

The Stent – Save a Life! Forum serves as a platform for you to discuss with your peers on how to improve the access of your patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), in your region, to guideline adherent therapy. It is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and share best practices in the management of your patients.

The Stent-Save a Life! Annual Forum 2020:

The Stent-Save a Life! Annual Forum usually takes places on the Monday prior to the EuroPCR conference held every year in May in Paris. Due to the EuroPCR 2020 cancellation resulting from the global Covid-19 pandemic, the Stent-Save a Life! global initiative hosted its annual event a few weeks later, on July 3rd, albeit in a virtual and shorter format.

The Stent-Save a Life! Virtual Forum allowed participants to get some insight on the progress of both the Stent-Save a Life! STEMI Network Blueprint project and the collaboration with STEMI India on the digital app intended to help implement a STEMI programme.

Given the current sanitary circumstances, the event also offered the opportunity to focus on the Covid-19 pandemic with an update on the on-going Stent-Save a Life! international survey assessing the practice of angioplasty during the crisis as well as a glimpse on how STEMI care was provided in a Covid hot spot through Dr Latib’s personal experience in New-York City.

The meeting ended with some lessons learned from the registries and data collections conducted by the local Stent-Save a Life! team in Egypt over the last few years.

Stent - Save a Life!

The Stent – Save a Life! global initiative aims to improve the delivery of care and patient access to the life saving indications of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (p-PCI), thereby reducing mortality and morbidity in patients suffering from acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
