Activities

  • Developing Regional Network: in 2010, for the first time in Romania, we opened up 10 pPCI centers organized in a 24/7 system in 5 country regions. We set up a network system of invasive treatment of STEMI and in collaboration with SFL Romania, the Health Care Ministry launched a special program for financing a number of 3500 procedures of primary PCI for these regions. Since then, this program is ongoing for all AMI.

    In 2012 two new 24/7 pPCI centers were opened and there are 8 new centers planned for the next 3 years (2012-2015).

    The percentage of STEMI patients receiving pPCI increased from 25% in 2010 to almost 50% in 2011.

    In Bucharest area we reached 640 pPCI/mil in 2011.

  • Training programs for young interventionist has started in Q1 2012, is on-going.
  • Dedicated SFL session at National Conference of RSC Working Group May 2012.
Stent - Save a Life!

The Stent – Save a Life! global initiative aims to improve the delivery of care and patient access to the life saving indications of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (p-PCI), thereby reducing mortality and morbidity in patients suffering from acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
