The SSL Azerbaijan Project aims to establish Chest Pain Clinics, especially in underserved rural areas, as part of a national effort to strengthen the STEMI / acute coronary syndrome care pathway

Key messages are summarized below:

•Hub-and-spoke model: Clinics (spokes) connected to central PCI hospitals (hubs)..
• Aligned with government healthcare initiatives, particularly primary care and cardiac emergency response.

Objectives

  • 1. Establish chest pain clinics in underserved areas.
  • 2. Integrate clinics into a national hub-and-spoke STEMI network.
  • 3. Provide early diagnosis via ECG, point-of-care troponin, telemedicine.
  • 4. Improve EMS training, communication, and reduce treatment delays

Project Overview :

  • • Pilot Site: Berda region (~250,000 people, limited cardiology services).
  • • Clinic Setup: Chest pain clinics within local family physician offices / primary care facilities.
  • Stent - Save a Life!

    The Stent – Save a Life! global initiative aims to improve the delivery of care and patient access to the life saving indications of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (p-PCI), thereby reducing mortality and morbidity in patients suffering from acute coronary syndromes (ACS).
