The main objective of the Ukrainian Association of Interventional Cardiology is the introduction in clinical practice ESC indications for myocardial revascularization in STEMI patient (2010-2012 years) Active implementation of AMI treatment system of “Regional reperfusion networks”, which should be based on “Regional reperfusion centers” that serves as the main hospitals for primary interventions.

Everything facilitating the implementation of the principles of effective reperfusion therapy STEMI patients: increase the use of p-PCI to more than 70% among all STEMI patients, achieve p-PCI rates of more than 600 per one million inhabitants per year, offer 24/7 service for p-PCI procedures at invasive facilities to cover the country STEMI population need;

Development and participation in specialised training interventional cardiologists based on “Curriculum and syllabus for Interventional Cardiology subspecialty training in Europe”. To promote the subspecialty – “interventional cardiology”, with specialisation and subsequent improvement of knowledge and skills of interventional cardiologists, whose main task is to perform primary interventions in STEMI patients.

Organising and conducting two-month course «New technologies in interventional cardiology», (5 times per year) at the Academy of Postgraduate Education, followed by certification experts and an Annual (3 days) Course on Interventional Cardiology with Stent for Life sessions. Holding Stent for Life sessions at the Congress of Cardiologists of Ukraine and other major cardiology events in Ukraine.

Organisation of meetings of the Association in the clinics of Ukraine with the promotion of the Stent for Life Initiative principles, which is necessary to support or encourage the introduction of primary interventions in patients with AMI. Demonstrating in dealing with local organisers health benefits of percutaneous interventions in patients with AMI.

Continuing to conduct and support, organised by the Association, the online «Register of PCI», an analysis of the amount and quality of procedures with the publication of these data in the specialized press.
